37 Fundraising for important Surgery

Through our networks we are in touch with a young man who fled with his family from Iran to Indonesia in 2013. He has been suffering from the condition varicocele since 2019, which is varicose veins in the scrotum, something that can only be repaired surgically. During a recent ultrasound examination, it became clear that a hydrocele had developed in the testicles. A hydrocele is an accumulation of fluid in the scrotum. The young man is suffering from severe pain. Three doctors have independently recommended surgery as a matter of urgency. If not treated, there is a risk of permanent sterilization in addition to the severe pain. The cost of the operation is currently € 3500.

Situation of refugees in Indonesia

The government of Indonesia has not signed the Geneva Convention. Refugees in Indonesia do not have access to health insurance and only some who are under IOM protection have limited access to health services. The young man and his family have been living in Indonesia without work permits since 2013. The Indonesian government and UNHCR do not provide financial assistance, shelter, or health services. Refugees only receive limited support from support centers, charities and churches.

As Transnational Community Federation e. V. we want to collect donations to finance the operation for the young man. You can support us too! Even small amounts help a lot and can give the young man a pain-free future.
